Welcome to Albany High's Career & Technical Education Program Review & Input Site

Welcome, and thank you for serving as a member of our CTE Business Curriculum Council. This web-based tool will aid us in developing and reviewing the program materials for new sequences of study that are being incorporated into our current CTE offerings at the Abrookin Center. As we work on developing the various components of this new offering, including curriculum, staffing profile, student profile, facilities, instructional equipment, articulations and others, we will post that information here for your review and input. Please note that announcements will be sent to your e-mail to alert you when significant materials have been posted for your review. Each posting will provide you a space for comment and your input and considerations are very important to us and to the development process.

Program Review Materials

Each of our Career Pathways  include a series of coursework that is designed to build upon students' career interests, helping them to develop the academic and industry specific, knowledge and skill base required to successfully pursue that career path  post high school. In order to ensure that the coursework and planned experiences will result in students being college and career ready at the commencement level, we need to carefully review the curriculum, learning activities, assessments, and facilities the students will be exposed to ensure that they align with current Industry, State, and National standards. In doing so, our goal is to provide students with a learning experienced that is reasonably guaranteed and viable. This site will provide you the opportunity to review supporting information in each of the eight key areas incorporated in each career pathway; including:

  • Student profiles and projected enrollment
  • Integration of academic content and career & technical education coursework
  • Work based learning opportunities
  • Technical assessments
  • Post-secondary articulation agreements and the benefits they offer for our students
  • Overview of learning facilities and technology
  • Certification status and expertise of both our faculty and our Business & Post-Secondary advisors
